Getting to NIKHEF

Details of how to get to NIKHEF by taxi or public transport is given on a separate page. Arrange to be dropped off at Kruislaan 409 (on campus). The main entrance to NIKHEF is on the north-east, next to a small parking lot.
A one-page overview map is available, but is slightly out-of-date: the bus service 66 noted at the bottom has been withdrawn. A new service "67" is operational and runs between "Amstel station" and the campus. This "Amstel" station is better connected to the rest of the city and wide-area public transportation. The bus leaves at the "lower end" of the station, near the street car stop for line 12.
Please be advised that pick-pocketers are operating in the train from Schiphol to Amsterdam-Zuid/WTC, at the train stations and throughout the city in general. Do not leave your baggage unattended at any time.

Once at Nikhef, you can contact the reception desk and ask for directions to room H2.20. The reception is located next to the door on your right. You can ask for me as well. My phone number is 2179 (from outside: +31 (0)20-592 2179), room number H1.57 (in the main hall, first floor). The NIKHEF reception desk can be reached at +31 (0)20-592 2000.
In the room there will be 10Mbit/s wired UTP ethernet available (using RJ45 connectors) as well as 802.11b wireless ethernet. Public terminals are available in rooms H2.38 and H1.37a. All connections are DHCP capable.

Room H2.20 is on the second floor and can be reached using the elevator in the main hall. Turn right two times and the room will be the first door on your right.

Coffee can be obtained from the coffee counter on the ground floor. It is fresh between 9am and 10.30. There will be fresh tea after 3pm. Between 3pm and 3.30, the coffee and chocolate machine is free, at other times insert 25 cts. Smoking is prohibited in all rooms and corridors, but a dedicated smoking room is at your disposal on the ground floor next to the coffee point.
The "restaurant" is located on the CWI premises (same building) on the first floor, but only open from 11:45 till 13:45 hrs. There are no on-site dining facilities, but there are plenty of nice restaurants in the town centre. For the WP7 and security meetings, catering has been organized. See the relevant mails on the WP7 mailing list.
